Dear Ladies and Gentlemen

I am in the very pleasant position to announce you that the dossier that the WKF has filed to the I.O.C. in view of the Olympic Programme Revision has been warmly accepted by the IOC and karate has once again been accepted in the short list of the sports (along with rugby, golf, squash roller sports) that IOC will examine in its meeting in Copenhagen in October 2009 for inclusion in the olympic programme.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the WKF President Mr Espinos, and the executive committee members for their furitful work and to wish our sport good luck. I am certain that from this moment until 2009 we will all join our forces, under the guidance of the WKF president, in order to achieve our goal, the inclusion of our sport in the programme of the Olympic Games, something that karate deserves, and that the sport community accepts.


I will keep you informed on any other developments concerning this very important issue.
